Salimah F. Janmohamed is a barrister & solicitor with extensive corporate and banking law experience gained from working at an international law firm in the city. Building on her big firm corporate and banking experience and with her passion for dispute resolution, she founded SFJ LAW, with a view of providing value-added quality services to her clientele.
Ms. Janmohamed has experience working on bilateral and syndicated loan transactions involving major Schedule I, II and III banks, as well as working on various cross-border debt financings involving institutional investors from around the world. She has also represented mid and major sized energy companies in their commercial and transactional needs including providing corporate and security opinions and attending to their corporate governance needs.
Ms. Janmohamed is a graduate of the University of Calgary's faculty of law where she was awarded the Campbell McLaurin Achievement Award as well as the Alberta Provincial Judges Award of Merit. Ms. Janmohamed was called to the Alberta bar in 2005. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and a fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel.
An avid proponent of environmental stewardship and society's role in taking responsibility for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, she is presently pursuing a graduate level Master of Laws program at the University of Calgary focusing on natural resources, energy and environment. Her research is focused on regulation of carbon offset markets in Alberta.

Community Involvement
Ms. Janmohamed's community involvement exemplifies an ethic that is dear and near to her heart - the ethic of community service. Ms. Janmohamed volunteers with many legal, educational and community institutions. Of note, she presently sits on the board of directors of Mount Royal University Foundation. She also volunteered for a three year term with the Ismaili Council for the Prairies. She also volunteers a resource lawyer with Student Legal Assistance and with her local community.
